- Hamilton Rowan Gamble Papers | Letter signed Jacob S. Sharp, Danville, Missouri, to Governor H.R. Gamble, Jefferson City. I was informed by Mr. Bates that the President had granted pardons to John S. Fitzhugh, Franklin D. Graham and Julian Winter, and had placed the pardon in your hands. No doubt the young men are truly penitent for their transgressions and will hereafter continue faithful to their Government. They would be most grateful to have their pardons forwarded. Individuals mentioned include to John S. Fitzhugh, Franklin D. Graham and Julian Winter. (1 page), 1861 Oct 1
