Towed up Mississippi River by river steamboat from the South West Pass to New Orleans. Describes plantation, etc. Am pleased with New Orleans whose hotels surpass Eastern ones. Recommends a trip through the East for which itinerary is outlined. Have found plenty of friends in St. Louis and if I can find the right store I shall go into business.
