- Saint Louis History Collection | Letter signed E. Brown Hornor, St. Louis, to John S. Halloway, Philadelphia. Again I must burden your ears with my tales of ills with which it delighteth fate to strew my path. My affairs are formerly and my mind is much troubled how to get out of the difficulty which will completely swamp me unless I can find someone willing to join me in partnership who has a capital. Times are so dull here: no business, no excitement. Still, I am convinced that before long a change will take place. I was glad to see by your last letter that your health is better., 1829 Dec 13
