- Saint Louis History Collection | Letter signed E. Brown Hornor, St. Louis, to John S. Holloway, Philadelphia. Nothing can grieve me more than the account received from you of continued ill health. I have got my store under way but can form little idea of what may be done in the busy seasons as this is the dullest season they have known for many years. The human mind will always find excuses for its own backsliding, and having no one near to rest my affections upon, I am drawn without my own free will into society which ultimately may produce ruin to me and to my prospects. I shall endeavor to find out more in regard to LeRoy’s treatment., 1829 Feb 28
