- Thomas Jefferson Collection | Letter signed Waller Taylor, Vincennes, to Thomas Jefferson. Concerns the trial of Davis Floyd, who is charged with "preparing and setting on foot a military expedition against the Spanish Territories in America." Mr. Floyd said that he had assurances from Col. Burr that the government approved the expedition and Taylor does not believe Floyd was "intentionally guilty." Taylor writes to explain his conduct as a member of the court that tried Floyd and because he would like to be appointed receiver of public monies for the lands to be sold in the Jeffersonville District. (4 pages), 1807 Sept 16
