Has safely arrived at Monticello and speaks of the impending marriage of Nancy Jefferson to Charles Lewis. Jefferson informs Eppes that the British government has promised to suppress all their courts of admiralty in the United States and establish two new ones in Jamaica and the Windward Islands and "to send out men of good character as judges and give them independent salaries."
