Includes letter of William R. Martin to Captain T. Rohe, dated Martinsburgh, Missouri, July 29, 1861, regarding the discovery of the bodies of Benjamin Sharp and Lieutenant Jager; two letters of Joseph Weydemeyer to Almstedt, dated October 3, 1862, and to General Schofield, dated June 3, 1863, regarding his resignation; brief report of the fortifications at St. Louis, dated January 20, 1863; and Almstedt's journal with brief notes of the Powder River Indian Expedition in 1865. Also includes military commissions of Almstedt, dated 1846; and Bellefontaine Cemetery papers.
