Scope and Contents

The collection includes plats of several subdivisions in the city of St. Louis and St. Louis County; maps of St. Louis and the Illinois cities of East St. Louis, Galesburg, and Monmouth; a few aerial photographs of parts of the St. Louis area; maps and drawings regarding Sewer District No. 5 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; charts of the Mississippi River; survey plat for the De Soto–Carr Housing Project, later known as the Pruitt-Igoe housing project; and plats of the River des Peres Drainage Works. Several of these documents were prepared by C.E. Smith & Co., consulting engineers, of St. Louis.
