Letter signed George H. Hall, St. Joseph, to Mary [Hall]. Sending $150. Have made many enemies simply by not allowing parties to plunder the public. These evils attend upon all who try to do right. Our city is improving, but little speculating in property. We have a little boy seven weeks old named Moss. Sallie [Hall] is doing well. Robert Marmion called upon us on his way West. I think service on the Pacific Coast must be exceedingly pleasant. Willard [P. Hall] and family are well. He and I will probably start for New York, Philadelphia, and Washington tonight. We go to prepare papers for our railroad west from here and to purchase material for the railroad., 1869 July 14
