Letter signed Anne [Mrs. Willard P. Hall], St. Joseph, Mo., to Willard P. Hall, Washington. Family news. I have not any political news to write you. I do not think there is the least danger of your being beat next August. If such a thing should take place Buchanan could not hold me very long. Annie [Hall] is engaged to Dr. [Robert] Terrill of Randolph County; says your mother [Statira Hall] is not willing because he is not rich. William [A. Hall] thinks it a good match and Annie is determined. More family news. [Note: Dr. Terrill and Anna S. Hall were married, according to the History of Randolph County (p. 639), on January 1, 1850, but letters indicate that the year of their marriage was 1851.], 1849 Dec 9
