Letter signed Bertha R. Skinker to husband. I told Charley to send you a telegram to close with Mrs. Robertson, but not for a long lease. The street is already a crowded one and that locality will not long be desirable. Suggests two more houses. Mr. Drew’s son is very ill now; Tom McPheeter and Vallee Rayburn still very ill although the latter is thought to be improving. Mrs. Horace Dyer is so low today it is thought she cannot recover. Why don’t you try for a room at Mrs. Fauntleroy’s on West Pine?, [1901?] Aug 30

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

The collection consists primarily of Skinker family correspondence, the bulk of which is between Thomas K. Skinker and his wife, Bertha Rives Skinker. The collection also contains several folders of tax receipts of Thomas Skinker dated 1839-1886. This finding aid was compiled by keying in the document descriptions on the folder covers. These document descriptions were presumably written by a Missouri Historical Society archivist soon after the collection was purchased in 1978.
