Letter signed Bertha R. Skinker, Wequetonsing, to husband. Bella is a helpless invalid now and in spite of her brave efforts is much depressed. If the doctor advises, we shall certainly return next week. Suggests houses to look at. Please look into the Pressed Brick matter. I feel conscious-stricken about poor Frank. Tom McPheeters is now the most alarming case, although Vallee Rayburn, Joe Drew, Stewart Taylor, Florence Streett, Miss Carney and Eugene Miltenberger are still by no means out of danger. We are rejoicing over Lucy Hoblitzelle’s safe delivery of a little girl., 1901 Aug 20
Scope and Contents
The collection consists primarily of Skinker family correspondence, the bulk of which is between Thomas K. Skinker and his wife, Bertha Rives Skinker. The collection also contains several folders of tax receipts of Thomas Skinker dated 1839-1886. This finding aid was compiled by keying in the document descriptions on the folder covers. These document descriptions were presumably written by a Missouri Historical Society archivist soon after the collection was purchased in 1978.
