On January 30, 1974, Elizabeth goes to Tucson with Irene, Alicia, and Fran. They also tour Arrow Rock, Missouri, on May 5. Elizabeth travels to Minnesota on July 19 to visit friends/family. On August 4, she visits Friendship Village and a few days later signs a contract to retire there. On August 9, she “listened to Nixon’s ‘farewell’ and Ford’s ‘hello.’” , 1974

The collection contains 14 diaries written by Elizabeth Nulsen Young. The diaries cover the years 1917 to 1976 and briefly list her day-to-day activities. Each diary includes five years, with the exception of one travel diary of a trip to Europe in 1956 and the last diary (1976), which only contains one calendar year.
