In early January 1965, Elizabeth leaves for a car trip to the West. She visits Los Angeles and sees the Wells Fargo Museum. She rides horses, sometimes as a way to go up a mountain. She visits several sites and cities in Arizona as well. She spends time with the “boys” and the “girls” playing bridge and exploring. She makes her way back home in late February. In mid-March, she flies to Naples, Florida, to visit family; Bun joins them in Naples. Elizabeth then flies to Miami. While there, she watches a space flight. She returns on April 6. In mid-April, she begins taking Spanish lessons. She plays bridge all year. She visits Bells in Minnesota in early June. She also enjoys knitting/crocheting sweaters for Bun., 1965

The collection contains 14 diaries written by Elizabeth Nulsen Young. The diaries cover the years 1917 to 1976 and briefly list her day-to-day activities. Each diary includes five years, with the exception of one travel diary of a trip to Europe in 1956 and the last diary (1976), which only contains one calendar year.
