On January 7, 1964, Elizabeth wants to sell her VW. She needs a new one when she returns from the South Pacific. On January 24, she leaves for the South Pacific. There is a notation to look at travel notes for information on her vacation. On April 4, she returns from the trip. She picks up with her gardening, playing bridge, and Republican campaign work: phoning, mailing, and planting propaganda. She goes traveling again in the Kentucky area in late May. On June 5, she has x-rays taken. On June 25, Elizabeth sends Bun to Dr. B for a lump in her breast. She goes college touring in late August on the northeast coast for Bun. The collection contains 14 diaries written by Elizabeth Nulsen Young. The diaries cover the years 1917 to 1976 and briefly list her day-to-day activities. Each diary includes five years, with the exception of one travel diary of a trip to Europe in 1956 and the last diary (1976), which only contains one calendar year.
