On January 14, 1921, Elizabeth writes, “think I’m going to announce my engagement.” On January 25, she writes that she is engaged to “Brigham” and on February 2 states that “Itchie” gave her a ring. On June 13, 1921, they get a marriage license and get married two days later. They go to Europe on their honeymoon. Helen, Oscar, Mim, and John meet her as she comes back from Europe to St. Louis, where she now resides. In the fall, she attends Vassar [alumni] meetings and goes to the St. Louis Club. She refers to her husband as “Itchie.”, 1921

The collection contains 14 diaries written by Elizabeth Nulsen Young. The diaries cover the years 1917 to 1976 and briefly list her day-to-day activities. Each diary includes five years, with the exception of one travel diary of a trip to Europe in 1956 and the last diary (1976), which only contains one calendar year.
