Letter signed A.C. Dodge, Burlington, Iowa, to John Fletcher Darby, Saint Louis, Mo. Thanks Darby for his communication to the Republican about Washington Square. Dodge knew many of the people mentioned. He had heard of the duel between Riely and Smith, who was proverbial for being a gentleman in whose bosom the angry passions ran riot. Thanks Darby for the account of the murder trial at Edwardsville involving Felix Grundy. [filed in 1877 Jan-July], 1877 Mar 15
