Collection contains correspondence to Isaac Cook from various individuals dated 1845-1853, including a letter from Stephen A. Douglas dated May 27, 1853. Collection also includes papers regarding Mrs. Edith M. Cook’s stock in the Boreel Mining Company, 1902-1939; newspaper and magazine articles, dated 1928, regarding a memorial to Dr. John Thomson Hodgen and Dr. John Thomson Hodgen in Pittsfield, Illinois; and correspondence of Mrs. N.E. Collins, matron of the Home of the Friendless (St. Louis, Mo.), dated 1935, regarding the care of residents of the home.
