Letter signed A.B., St. Louis, to James Gordon Bennett, N.Y. High praise for St. Louis, its location; steamer traffic on the river, brick houses, the Planters House, Court House; Bloody Island; shot tower being constructed here. On Sunday last a mob was raised to pull down medical buildings belonging to the Catholic University because of careless disposition of dissected bodies. The mayor interfered by calling the military which held the mob at bay and saved the buildings.
