The Moore Family Papers Series consists of various papers other than correspondence regarding the Moore and Pilcher families, including reminiscences and genealogies. It is unknown why the Bank of Edwardsville ledger (1819-1821), the Augustin Kennerly journal (1832-1834), and the Stagg & Brother ledger (1862-1870) were in the possession of Thomas Anderson Moore. The Barton Family Correspondence Series consists entirely of letters from various family members in Montgomery County, Missouri, to John M. Barton while he served with the 33rd Missouri Infantry during the Civil War. According to the correspondence regarding the collection, John Barton gave his correspondence to Thomas Anderson Moore to return to his family.
