Photostat copy of letter signed James Wilkinson, St. Louis, to James L. Donaldson, recorder of the Territory of Louisiana. Wilkinson warns Donaldson not to accept any plats of survey, unless they are done by the surveyor general or his deputies. The collection consists primarily of correspondence to and from General James Wilkinson with several government officials and military officers. The bulk of the correspondence is dated 1805-1806, when Wilkinson served as governor of the Louisiana Territory, and discusses administrative affairs of the territory.
